‘Dali and the Atomic Bomb’ lecture set for Dec. 9 at Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas
Judith Overcash, a docent at the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Fla., will give the lecture "Dali and the Atomic Bomb" at 6 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Atomic Testing Museum, 755 E. Flamingo Road in Las Vegas. After the atomic bomb was developed, Dali became interested in atomic energy, nuclear physics and molecular energy, according to information from the Atomic Testing Museum. He represented those scientific developments in some of his post-1945 paintings, holograms and other artistic endeavors. Overcash's presentation will review some of those areas of Dail's art, as well as earlier works. Cost is $10, $5 museum members. Details: Atomic Testing Museum or 702-794-5147.
