Golfing’s Prestigious Nevada Open 2012 Will Be Held December 11-13 In Mesquite

The most esteemed and eagerly awaited golf tournament in Nevada, the Nevada Open, will be played December 11-13, 2012 at Mesquite Gaming’s two premier courses, the CasaBlanca Golf Club and the Palms Golf Club. With a rich championship history of over 40 years, this year’s tournament is expected to draw over 160 professional golfers from all over the United States and even Canada. Many of the champions from past years have gone on to play for the Web.com Tour (formerly the Nationwide Tour) and the PGA Tour.
With a total purse of $92,000 (based on a full field), the competition will be fierce and thrilling. The action begins on Tuesday, December 11 with a 10AM shotgun start at both the CasaBlanca and Palms Golf Clubs. The battle for first place continues with round two on Wednesday the 12th with another 10AM shotgun start at both courses. The stakes are even higher in this round, as there will be a 36 hole cut to determine who will play for the championship. The championship round will be played at the CasaBlanca Golf Club with a 10AM shotgun start.

Spectators, fans and golf enthusiasts are encouraged and welcome to walk the course and watch the players as they compete for the Nevada Open title. For the benefit of both the competitors and spectators, please note: there is minimal allowable interaction between spectators and players or their caddies.
As in years past, the excitement mounts with each round for golfers and spectators alike. The 2011 Nevada open even had a sudden death playoff between Drew Scott of Henderson, Nevada and Daniel Summerhays from Farmington, UT. Drew won first place and the $10,00 prize and Daniel went on to play the 2012 PGA Tour finishing the season with 4 top 10 wins earning over $1 million in prize money.
