Las Vegas Monorail welcomes 40 millionth passenger
The Las Vegas Monorail, which whisks visitors up and down the Strip in elevated trains, stopping at the resort hotels, recently welcomed its 40 millionth passenger after operating five and a half years.
The Monorail makes seven stops, serving the Sahara Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas Hilton, Las Vegas Convention Center, Harrah's Las Vegas Hotel and Casino and the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino, Flamingo Las Vegas and Caesars Palace, Bally's Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas and the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino.
Traveling its 3.9-mile route (6.4 kilometers) takes 15 minutes or less in a safe, clean, comfortable and climate-controlled environment. Trains arrive every few minutes, on a seven-day-a-week schedule. The train began operating July 14, 2004.
