Reno gearing up for July’s Artown

The entire month of July is all about art in Reno, from displays of traditional art to concerts in the park and big name performers.

Artown is in its 13th year and has grown into a spectacular 31-day event. In 2007, over 350,000 people attended Artown activities—over 350 of them—throughout the month.

Some of the highlights this year include Wynton Marsalis playing at the Grand Sierra Resort on July 5, Mandy Patinkin at the Pioneer Center on July 15, and Ringo Starr at the Downtown Reno Ballroom on July 25.

Additionally, activities, screenings, displays, and concerts will be held all over Reno during the 31 days Artown is active. It’s the perfect opportunity to spend a few extra days just to get a good look at some fabulous displays of art in our region.
