Nevada Historical Society hosts the free event

Smithsonian-affiliated museum preserves the history of nuclear weapons testing in Nevada.

The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum is set to open Sept. 10 in Reno. The kids' museum is full of hands-on exhibits grouped into seven galleries, the centerpiece of which is the two-story Cloud Climber, a climbing structure enclosed by netting.

The Atomic Testing Museum, Las Vegas, has just been awarded a significant grant for the 2011 Museums & Community Collaborations Abroad (MCCA) program by the American Association of Museums (AAM) and the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
