Civil War reenactments, a USO dance and an exhibit of the Traveling Vietnam Wall are some of the events and displays scheduled for Battle Born Days, Oct. 25-28 at Mills Park, 1111 E. William St. in Carson City.
The new event is the result of efforts by Harry Ehrman of the Battle Born Civil War Re-Enactors and Rich Crombie of NV Shows, LLC. Battle Born Days will run in conjunction with Carson City’s Nevada Day events, in which the state’s entry into the Union is celebrated.
Battle Born Days events include the Gun & Antique Show; an exhibit of the CSS H.L. Hunley, a submarine belonging to the Confederacy; and displays from Cactus Air Force, LLC, a privately owned military aircraft and vehicle museum in Carson City.
The event is free, except for the Gun & Antique Show and the USO Dance. There will be a carnival operating on the same grounds at the same time as Battle Born Days, but that is a separate event with admission fees.
Battle Born Days runs from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 25, noon to 9 p.m. Oct. 26, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 27 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 28.
