The Nevada Commission on Tourism (NCOT) is running a new promotion with Southwest Airlines that will feature six different resort hotels on each month through January. The “Featured Destination” ads promoting special offers at the hotels will run on the home page and in the travel guide section in addition to being included in an e-mail blast to approximately 7 million Southwest consumers. Eleven million Southwest consumers are expected to see the promotion. The “Featured Destination” promotion is an excellent way for visitors to get the best deals on hotels and flights to the featured destination. Scheduled to run Nov. 17-24, the ads highlight the Atlantis Resort Spa Casino in Reno; Lakeside Inn and Casino at Lake Tahoe; and The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino, Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Excalibur Hotel and Casino and J.W. Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa, all in Las Vegas. Hotel ads featured Dec. 15-22 will market The Ridge Tahoe at Lake Tahoe, Eldorado Hotel Casino Reno, The Orleans in Las Vegas, Embassy Suites Las Vegas, Staybridge Suites in Reno and the Las Vegas Hilton. Running Jan. 19-26 will be ads to publicize the Montbleu Resort at Lake Tahoe, MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Wynn Las Vegas, Silver Legacy Resort Casino in Reno, Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas and Harrah's Lake Tahoe Hotel Casino. NCOT invited its entire database of more than 675 individuals in the hotel industry to join the campaign on a first-come, first-served basis. Nearly 400 people opened the e-mail with more than 40 properties interested in participating. The 18 hotels to be featured in the ads were first to respond to the invitation.
