Nevada Magazine’s November/December issue features the Las Vegas Monorail on the cover. With the holiday season upon us, Nevada Magazine's November/December issue makes it that much easier to plan your fall and winter engagements. The holiday-themed edition includes a Special Holiday Events Guide in its Events & Shows section, which appears in the magazine and is also a standalone publication distributed in Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport and Reno-Tahoe International Airport. “In producing six issues a year, it's only natural that our November/December issue would have a holiday focus,” Editor Matthew B. Brown said. “There are also a few shopping stories meant to give Nevadans some useful gift ideas.” The issue features four chocolate-themed shops in Las Vegas, all of which ship their products, and four Las Vegas stores which carry fun, outside-the-norm products, such as The Manilow Store inside the Las Vegas Hilton (think Barry Manilow bobblehead). You can also give the gift of Silver State literature this season using Nevada Magazine's annual book reviews. Keeping with the theme of Nevada reads, this issue's feature story spotlights three intriguing Nevada authors — Frank Bergon, Phyllis Barber, and H. Lee Barnes — and the Notable Nevadan Q&A delves into how living in Reno during his young life shaped musician and author Willy Vlautin's career. Also featured are an adventure on the Las Vegas Monorail, Nevada border towns (including Laughlin and West Wendover), Boulder City's new zipline attraction, and Ely's White Pine Fire and Ice Show, which takes place in January. If you're planning to attend the Nevada Day Parade in Carson City on November 1, you're welcome to stop by the Nevada Magazine booth near the Paul Laxalt State Building and purchase the November/December issue for a discounted rate.
