Nevada Magazine’s annual Best of Nevada readers' poll is now available online at The 12th annual poll allows readers to weigh in on categories ranging from best casino, hotel, and restaurant to best place to take kids.

Results are published in the July/August issue and on in late June. “We encourage everyone to go to our Web site and vote for their favorites, especially the small towns,” says Publisher Janet Geary. “We want to make sure all areas of the state have plenty of representation.”

To vote, visit and click on the Best of Nevada 2009 link. The categories are divided into two parts, Northern and Southern Nevada. Any town north of U.S. 6 is considered “North.” You do not need to fill out all the categories to submit your survey. Voting ends on Friday, April 10.

In Nevada Magazine's upcoming issue

Nevada Magazine's March/April issue hits newsstands in late February. In it are features on the arrival of the Reno Aces Triple-A baseball team—with a look at the history of professional baseball in the Biggest Little City—and Jarbidge, a tiny town in northeastern Nevada with a huge appetite for fun.

The magazine's Tour Around Nevada campaign continues with Battle Mountain, a Northern Nevada town that has seen national attention recently due to its strong economy in a time of general national disparity. On April 18, Nevada Magazine staff will present a Tour Around Nevada plaque to town officials and greet residents during the Battle Mountain High School Rodeo.

Also, the first in a series of “Nevada Adventure Challenge” articles highlights a winter ascent of Boundary Peak, the Silver State's highest point. You can also find stories on fly-fishing, sushi restaurants, and the 50th anniversary of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
