Type: Skiing, Boarding & Snowshoeing
Few skiing souls have tackled the Toiyabes, where the powder is as pure as the blue skies overhead. Some of the more easily accessible slopes are in Kingston Canyon and Big Creek just south of Austin. Toiyabe Crest Trail is for the more experienced snowshoer.
Getting There: From Reno take I-80 east to U.S. 50; 180 miles.
