Located in Black Canyon on the Colorado River about 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas, at more than 700 feet tall Hoover Dam is an amazing Nevada spectacle, especially considering it was built more than 70 years ago. Each year, about a million people take the tour of the dam and millions more drive across it.

Directions: Access US Highway 93 South and continue about 20 miles to Boulder City In Boulder City, take a left at the second stoplight (these are the only two in town.)Continue on US 93 to the Dam on the Nevada/Arizona border (about 7 miles from Boulder City). Note: The highway runs right across the top of the dam.
Hours of Operation: Parking- 8am-6-pm, Visitor Center- 9am-6pm
Admission Fees: Parking-$7.00 (cash only); Adults (Ages 17-61)-$11; Seniors(62+), Juniors (ages 4-16), U.S. Military (Active Duty and Dependents)-All $9, U.S. Military (in Uniform) and Children (Ages 0-3) Free.
Restrictions: Not open on Christmas and Thanksgiving. All guests are required to go through security screening at the visitor center, as are vehicles crossing the dam. Stopping on top of the dam in any vehicle is prohibited. Pedestrians are not allowed on the top of the dam during hours of darkness. Pets are not allowed anywhere on site. Food, chewing gum, canned drinks and drinks in cups are NOT allowed on the tour or in the buildings. Water bottles are permitted. Motorhomes and other high clearance vehicles (with dimensions greater than 10.5 feet high and 23 feet long) CANNOT park in the Parking Garage and must use parking areas on the Arizona side of the dam.
Special Notes: Concessions are available at base of parking garage. Accessibility-The Hoover Dam Visitor Center and the Powerplant Tour are wheelchair/scooter accessible. The Dam Tour is NOT accessible. Guests with wheelchairs, strollers and other mobility equipment can enter the Visitor Center (one floor below street level) via an elevator inset into the canyon wall a few yards past the escalator entrance.
