Caliente and Pioche
A scenic pocket of parks and reservoirs is tucked into this southeastern corner of Nevada, allowing fishermen plenty of elbow room as they cast for lunkers in the area’s reservoirs and marshlands.

Beaver Dam State Park
Offers a fishable creek with rainbow trout.
Getting There: Located 37 miles east of Caliente. Drive 9 miles north of Caliente on U.S. 93 and continue east for 28 miles on graded gravel road to the park. Trailers and motorhomes not recommended.

Echo Canyon State Park
Offers rainbow trout, largemouth bass and white crappie.
Getting There: Located 12 miles east of Pioche on State Routes 322 and 323.

Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge
Pahranagat Refuge is 50 miles southwest of Caliente. It offers bowfishing, wildlife viewing, largemouth bass and catfish in a marshland habitat.
Getting There: Pahranagat is in Alamo, which is 90 miles north of LasVegas on U.S. 93. Caliente is 149 northeast of Las Vegas via U.S. 93. Pioche is 25 miles north of Caliente on U.S. 93.

Spring Valley State Park
Eagle Valley Reservoir is stocked with large numbers of rainbow trout.
Getting There: Located 18 miles northeast of Pioche on State Route 322.
