Ward Mountain Recreation Area has 30 miles of trails that are good for hiking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding or snowshoeing. Trailhead is at the Ward Mountain Campground, 8 miles southeast of Ely. Campground has 30 sites for camping and 6 group-use sites for day or overnight use.
