The Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas is located on the campus of the Springs Preserve. 

The museum offers visitors an interactive experience that interprets the history of Nevada from the geologic past through the present. Through the Museum's 13,000 square-foot permanent gallery, visitors will discover how geology shaped the Great Basin and learn of the prehistoric flora and fauna that inhabited the great sea which covered the state of Nevada. Hear the story of Nevada's Native Americans, pioneers, early settlers, miners, railroaders, ranchers and entrepreneurs. Learn about Hoover Dam, the atomic-testing era, and the rise of Las Vegas as an international resort. The museum also features a library and research center, educational labs, meeting spaces and a store.

The Museum is open Thursday through Monday, 10 am to 6 pm. The price of adult admission is $9.95 and includes entrance to the Las Vegas Springs Preserve.
