This remote area near Caliente features several huge boulders where climbers can cling and scramble, as well as volcanic rock with strong crimps, cracks, slopes and pockets, varying in size from 8’ to 40’. Routes of interest include Gomer’s Pile, The Molar and Cavity Search. Climbers are asked to avoid climbing on or near areas that have petroglyphs. YDS: 5.2 5.10+ Grade: III,IV Getting There: Located near Caliente, 149 miles northeast of Las Vegas. To reach Mecca from Las Vegas take I-15 to U.S. 93 north. Stay on U.S. 93 toward Pahroc Summit Pass and turn left (north) on an obvious dirt road approximately 17 miles past Ash Springs. Continue north and cross the cattle guard and go 2.2 miles past an old corral; at 2.6 miles angle right at the small dirt road. There is a pyramid-shaped boulder near the pass of a plateau where you can park.
