For some, there’s only one kind of Mustang that matters – the legendary Shelby. And thanks to the Shelby American manufacturing facility at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s Research and Development Center, Shelby lovers can enjoy an up-close-and-personal look at these famous vehicles. That’s because the manufacturing facility includes a museum that shares 35 years of Shelby history. The museum showcases not only the latest in the automobile line, but a selection of its vintage vehicles as well. Those in the know will truly appreciate the collection’s stunning 1962 Cobra, the masterpiece that started the Shelby revolution – and those not in the know will still recognize a beautiful car when they see it. The ever-evolving museum also features prototypes of the line’s Series 1, the Shelby GT-H, Terlingua, TG500KR and more.
The museum at Shelby Automobiles offers visitors free tours every day during the week beginning at 10:30 am. In addition to the museum’s collection of performance sports cars, visitors will enjoy a tour of the 100,000 square foot production facility. The friendly staff at Shelby Automotives is also available to offer the history and background of the museum’s vehicles and of the company itself. The manufacturing facility is also home to an official Shelby merchandise store that includes autographed items by the one-and-only Carroll Shelby himself.
