PROMOTION OVERVIEW

Discover Your Nevada is designed to educate Nevadans about the extraordinary treasures available throughout the state and ultimately drive travel among residents.  At present Nevadans traveling in-state represent only 8% of all Nevada’s visitors, so a significant opportunity is going untapped.
The promotion will be marketed through a PR-driven campaign with press outreach and social media key program outreach components.  The promotion will kick-off with a press conference featuring both the Governor and Lt. Governor.
Industry participants will receive promotion through the website and PR outreach as well as opportunities within the partner’s own viral marketing campaign.


Winners will be promoted via public relations outreach as well as potential packages that will places on the TravelNevada.com website and promoted via social media channels (more detail below).

RULES:

  • Nominations will be accepted beginning 10 a.m. PST, July 3, 2013
  • Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m. PST, Friday, July 12, 2013.
  • Nominations must be activities, locations or experiences available to visitors as part of a Nevada trip.  All nominations are subject to the discretion of the Nevada Commission on Tourism.
  • Votes may be cast once a day per voter.
  • Voting schedule as follows:

Wednesday, July 3, 10:00 a.m. – Friday, July 12, 5:00 p.m. – Nominations
Monday, July 15, 9:00 a.m. – Friday, July 19, 5:00 p.m. – Round 1 - Establish top 10 in each Territory
Monday, July 22, 9:00 a.m. – Friday, July 26, 5:00 p.m. – Round 2 - Establish Top 2 in each Territory
Monday, July 29, 9:00 a.m. – Friday, August 2, 5:00 p.m – Round 3 - Establish winners in each Territory
Monday, August 5 – Winners announced

WINNERS RECEIVE:

  • Plaque announcing winner of given Territory in 2013
  • Virtual “badge” denoting they have been voted Territory’s top treasure – can be placed on websites, collateral, social media
  • Inclusion in a future NCOT eblast
  • Article mention in 2014 Nevada Visitor’s Guide
  • Mention in future edition of Nevada Magazine
  • Travel Nevada social media promotions (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, and Instagram)
  • Inclusion in print advertisement congratulating 2013 winners in Nevada Magazine in the March/April 2014 issue
  • Visit from Governor or Lt. Governor, schedules permitting
