September 2008 marked the conclusion of the $2,000,000 renovation of the Black Mountain Golf Course. Conditions are fantastic. Just 25 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, Black Mountain Golf & Country Club rests in the Mojave Desert in the shadows of the spectacular Black Mountains. With its three nine-hole courses making a 27-hole championship layout, Black Mountain is a challenge to players at all levels. And thanks to its manicured greens, strategic hazards and gently undulating fairways, it’s always a memorable, enjoyable golfing experience. Founders, the original nine, was constructed in 1958, making it the Las Vegas Valley’s third oldest golf course. The course features 3,309 yards from the longest tees for a par of 37, and its three opening holes, known as “Amen Corner,” will present a challenge to even the seasoned golfer. The Horizon course was built in 1963 to complete the original 18 holes and covers 3,241 yards for a par of 36. Both courses feature lush greens and hundreds of mature pine, ash, olive and cypress trees. In 2002, the Desert course was added. With its true desert layout, this 3,295, par-36 course requires precision and foresight, thanks to its prominent hazards and creative bunkers. Guests at Black Mountain Golf & Country Club can also enjoy a practice area, well-equipped pro shop, the Jeff Symmonds Golf School and a bar and grill.
