One of the most remote areas in Nevada, the scenic Jarbidge Wilderness is comprised of 113,000 acres and has 100 miles of hiking trails. The Jabridge Wilderness was Nevada's first designated wilderness area with numerous rugged peaks, eight of which tower above 10,000'. Several trails can be found in the Jarbidge Wilderness. One of the most popular cross-country routes is to Matterhorn Peak, a difficult 12-mile loop that offers spectacular views of neighboring points from 10,839' Matterhorn Peak.
