Carson City - Day of the DeadAdd to my Trip Planner
Nov 2, 2013 - Nov 2, 2013
Crafting sugar skulls that honor deceased loved ones is a classic element of Dia de Los Muertos. Nevada State Museum in Carson City will celebrate the holiday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2. Also known as Day of the Dead, Dia de los Muertos is a multi-cultural celebration of life, through death, for entire families. The museum’s ninth annual observance will feature video, crafts, songs, folkloric dance, and special exhibits. Families are encouraged to make ofrendas, displays that include memorabilia from the departed person, with samples of favorite foods, symbols, and remembrances of things people loved.
Admission: $8 adults; free for museum members and children 17 and under.
