Hailed by audiences and critics alike as the greatest illusionist of our time, David Copperfield has elevated the ancient art of magic to new heights and redefined it over the past few decades. And now he is bringing his magic back to Vegas for a special show at the Hollywood Theater located inside the MGM Grand.
The man behind such illusions as the Statue of Liberty disappearance and walking through the Great Wall of China, Copperfield began his career in magic as a child performing illusions in his hometown of Metuchen, New Jersey. He began performing professionally at age 12 and became the youngest person ever to be admitted to the Society of American Magicians. So advanced in his years, by sixteen Copperfield was already teaching a course in magic at New York University.
Some of Copperfield's most famous tricks and illusions include making a duck magically appear in a bucket held by an audience member, having a deadly scorpion choose the card picked out by another audience volunteer, or transporting himself and a fan to a Hawaii beach.
Copperfield's show at the MGM Grand gives audiences the opportunity to see some of the larger-than-life illusions Copperfield is so famous for. Demonstrating similar and equally amazing illusions like making the Stature of Liberty vanish, Copperfield takes this opportunity to create mind-boggling illusions that defy all reality. Audience interaction is a big part of the show as he picks a person at random for almost every illusion. In order to keep his show authentic Copperfield throws a Frisbee or huge ball into the crowd, proving all of his illusions are not set-up with audience plants.
Unlike other magic shows in Las Vegas, Copperfield does not incorporate flashy show girls, dancing or over the top production elements to supplement his illusions. His magic is excitement enough for the crowd!
