Carson City - The Virginia & Truckee Railroad’s Polar ExpressAdd to my Trip Planner
Nov 21, 2013 - Dec 22, 2013
Experience the magic aboard The Polar Express™. The train departs the Carson City Depot through rolling hills to begin its magical journey. Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies while anticipating a special visit to Santa’s North Pole! Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas.
Make this a special family holiday experience. The train leaves each Thurs., Friday, Saturday and Sunday night (check departure times). This diesel train ride is about an hour. Includes keepsake silver bell, hot chocolate and cookies, entertainment, and reading of the Polar Express™.
It is strongly recommended to book tickets in advance.
Directions to the Carson City Depot:
In Carson City, take Hwy. 50 East past Eagle Valley Golf Course. Turn right on Flint Dr. After 2/3 mile, turn left. Follow the signs to East Gate Depot.
This activity is handicapped accessible in certain situations but not all. Aisles and doors on the train are 24 inches wide and can accommodate wheelchairs. The 100 year-old train is wheelchair accessible. Accommodations for scooters are subject to size and weight. Special needs patrons need to make arrangements beforehand.
