Animal Ark is 38-acre wildlife sanctuary and nature center located north west of Reno. From the very beginning, Animal Ark has strived to provide a safe haven for non-releasable wildlife. Exhibits are designed to be comfortable, spacious, and appropriate for each animal that the Ark agrees to take in, and are constructed with the highest quality materials and workmanship possible. While providing comfortable space for the animals, these exhibits are also designed to enhance the visitor’s experience. Since many of Animal Ark’s residents are predators and therefore elusive and shy in nature, this provides a rare opportunity for the public to get very close and be able to observe the animals. Part of Animal Ark’s commitment to our resident wildlife is not just providing food and shelter, but also a stimulating and rich habitat.
Reservations required due to limited seating for all events below. Children must be at least 10 years old to participate for all events.
Prices for these special evening events: Adults $40.00; Seniors $35.00; Children (10‐16 years old) $30.00.

Dash 4 Dads Cheetah Chase Sunday June 17th 6:00 pm What Dad doesn’t enjoy watching cheetahs run at top speeds? Our cheetahs go from zero to 45 MPH in three seconds, with 22‐foot strides and a top speed of 60 MPH! We predict Dad will be impressed!

Last Chance Cheetah Dash Sunday October 14th 4:30 pm This is the last Cheetah Run of the season! Reward yourself with an incredible experience: Watch these magnificent cats running with extraordinary speed, off‐leash, across the desert in pursuit of an enticing lure.
To get to Animal Ark from Reno, take Highway 395 north to Stead, exit and turn right on Red Rock Road, go 11.5 miles and then right onto Deerlodge Road to 1265.
Be sure to dress warmly - Animal Ark is at 6,000 feet elevation. If the weather is questionable, call ahead to confirm the event will be taking place.
