With music there is hope. You can sing even when you can’t say much, and that is the inspiration for the African Children’s Choir.
The African Children’s Choir will melt the hearts of the audiences with their charming smiles and delightful African tunes, accompanied by ethnic instrumentation.
Through the devastation of war, famine, and disease many of the choir members, ages 7-10, have lost one or both parents. In spite of tragedy, the African Children’s Choir melts the hearts of the audiences with their charming smiles and delightful African tunes, accompanied by ethnic instrumentation.
The African Children’s Choir has performed for heads of state worldwide, at the United Nations and White House, and at the Queen’s Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace. They have been a special guest on Ellen, Good Morning America and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. They have also performed twice on American Idol – once with Josh Groban. Added to their collaborations are Jessica Simpson, Dispatch and Wyclef Jean. Additionally, they have performed at the Pentagon, United Nations, and most recently, for The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh at Westminster Abbey.
The show is brought to the community by Artown. Carrying on the diversity of event offerings, Artown continues year round bringing in national-level headliners for an incredible line-up of dynamic performances. Presenting a diverse array of artists that may otherwise not visit Reno. Artown expands the local horizons of art and culture while providing the community the opportunity to experience new genres of music, dance, theater and other art forms.
