Pahrump Arts Council hosts the 19th Art and Sol in the Desert, which has joined up with the High Desert International Film Festival, now in its 9th consecutive year. This joint event, celebrating the arts in many forms, will be held at the Pahrump Nugget on Memorial Day weekend. Anne Serling, daughter of Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling is schedule as part of the festival. 

The Pahrump Nugget hosts with nightly international & domestic films, writing competitions, Q & A with filmmakers, and  red carpet events. Right outside, at the intersection of State Routes 160 & 372, there will be daily music, displays, arts and crafts in a spectacular Street Faire. There will be great food and non-stop, fabulous fun for absolutely everyone to enjoy.

This year, the Festival is proud to be an Official Nevada 150 Event, celebrating the 150th birthday of the State of Nevada. A Black Tie Governor's Reception is being held on Friday May 23. In addition, there will be a presentation of a documentary produced by Women of Diversity, celebrating women's contributions to our state's rich history entitled:   Nevada Women's Legacy -- 150 Years of Excellence. We will also present a student film produced through the Nye Communities Coalition.
