NCOT’s $2.8 million spring/summer campaign launched in April in eight DMAs. In addition to traditional television advertising in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Phoenix, we received added value from our television partners in the form of online contests, travel interviews/segments, and vignettes featuring Nevada as a premier travel destination.
The vignettes focused on travel to Nevada, primarily for viewers looking for new things to do on an easy summer getaway. On-air promotions drove consumers to the television stations’ websites, where they could enter to win one of several packages to travel to Nevada. These packages included airfare, hotel accommodations, and other amenities. Participating partners included Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, Edgewood Tahoe, Eldorado Hotel Casino, Grand Sierra Resort, John Ascuaga’s Nugget, Las Vegas Hotel, MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa, Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
During this campaign, we had the opportunity to host the Better Arizona television show in northern Nevada, while Sonoran Living filmed in southern Nevada. Once again, these segments were a great way to bring Nevada directly to viewers in Phoenix.We hope to continue to participate in these added value opportunities in the future.

The successful “Discover Your Nevada” campaign launched on March 1 and resulted in 1,169 nominations, 587 of which were unique. After 107,000 votes, the winners were announced May 7. They were: Valley of Fire State Park (Las Vegas Territory), Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park (Reno-Tahoe Territory), The Star Hotel (Cowboy Country), Nevada Northern Railway (Pony Express Territory), Goldwell Open Air Museum (Nevada Silver Trails), and Pyramid Lake (Indian Territory). Congratulations to the top treasures and a big thank you to all who participated in this fun contest.
We continued to promote all the treasures Nevada has to offer by publishing newspaper inserts in the Reno-Gazette Journal and the Las Vegas Review Journal, running May 20. The inserts featured itineraries to encourage travel within the state this summer season. We have inserts available for distribution and would be happy to arrange delivery with you.
