Governor’s Conference on Tourism – December 3-5, 2012 - SAVE THE DATE!
The 2012 Governor’s Conference on Tourism will be December 3-5, 2012 (Monday-Wednesday) in the Reno-Tahoe area (location TBA). Confirmed speakers include Terry Jones, founder of Travelocity, Roger Dow, President and CEO US Travel Association, and Amir Eylon, VP Partnership Development, Brand USA. More great speakers to be announced. The event kicks-off with a reception at the Nevada Room of the Governor’s Mansion the evening of the 3rd offering the industry a chance to mingle with tourism industry professionals and media. The conference will bring back a trade show and media marketplace allowing sales and media outreach opportunities between Nevada businesses and travel professionals. Interactive roundtable sessions feature emerging technologies, special event development, public affairs/advocacy and emerging markets with NCOT representatives from Brazil, Australia, France and South Korea. NCOT at CITM – Partner Participation Welcomed
The Nevada Commission on Tourism will be participating in the China International Travel Mart (CITM), Nov. 15-19, 2012, in Shanghai, China. CITM is the largest professional travel mart in Asia. Participants come from all sectors of the travel industry including international and domestic tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, airlines and related travel companies.
NCOT in partnership with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, and with tourism entities from across the state, will have a large booth in the Brand USA Pavilion. Being part of this Pavilion provides us with additional exposure and a host of services.
The cost for participating in the booth as an NCOT partner will be $1,000.This is the booth participation cost only. Travel expenses, lodging and meals while in Shanghai are at the partner’s expense.
We also are looking at a post-CITM sales mission to various cities in China.This will provide a tremendous opportunity to meet one-on-one with travel professionals not at the show and follow-up with those you met at CITM. The cost for participation in this portion of the trip is still in development, but will be available soon.
