Nevada Magazine

In today’s publishing landscape, in which print is just one of several ways to reach readers and Nevada enthusiasts, Nevada Magazine has grown its social media presence consistently and effectively since it established a Facebook page in early 2009. The magazine now has a profile on every major social network. You can follow Nevada Magazine on your favorite social media channel, here, to keep up with the latest news in Nevada tourism and travel.

One innovative way the magazine is reaching the public is through Google+, which allows users to video chat with their “circles” via Google Hangouts. Every Thursday, Editor Matthew B. Brown joins a KRNV (Reno, Channel 4) Hangout/webcast, during which he provides information about weekend events and getaways in Nevada, plus shares what’s new at the magazine. Following the webcast, Brown appears on the KRNV News at Noon and offers an abbreviated roundup of what he discussed on the webcast. See Brown’s appearances on the noon news here, and read a blog by Brown that elaborates on the Hangouts here. Nevada tourism partners who are interested in joining the weekly webcasts can e-mail Brown.

On the print side, Nevada Magazine’s current July/August 2012 issue features Nevada’s six treasures that were named in the Discover Your Nevada campaign, as well as the annual Best of Nevada winners. Also highlighted are rural bed and breakfasts in Alamo and Kingston, plus the historic Golden Gate Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. You can read some of the current-issue stories here. Remember that subscribing to Nevada Magazine can also help keep you up to date with Nevada travel news and trends. Our sister Events & Shows publications are also available for free here.

Advertising sales are now open for the 2013 version of Nevada’s official Visitor’s Guide. We’re also producing a Chinese Visitors Guide that will be distributed via NCOT’s China offices in Beijing and Shanghai. To take advantage of our targeted advertising opportunities, please contact Carrie Roussel at 775-687-0610 or carrie@nevadamagazine.com.

Finally, Nevada Magazine recently printed its 2012 Nevada Rides Motorcycle Guide—a pocket-sized publication that caters to motorcyclists and highlights the many scenic roads available to navigate in the Silver State. You can view the e-edition here or request a hard copy via e-mail.
