Brimming with old pioneer routes (and the metal detecting scene to prove it), quick access to some of the region’s best ghost towns, hiking, fishing, and rockhounding in northern Nevada, and the best home cooked meals for miles around, make the Star Point Trading Post & RV Park part of your Cowboy Corridor road trippin’ discoveries.

Conveniently located along Nevada’s I-80 in between Lovelock and Winnemucca, the Star Point Trading Post & RV Park is situated in the tiny community of Imlay, Nevada, not far from Thunder Mountain Monument and Rye Patch Reservoir. Best yet, Star Point also lies along Nevada State Route 400—your gateway to Unionville Ghost Town and the Old Pioneer Garden Country Inn, Humboldt Mountain Range, Safe Haven Wildlife Sanctuary, and many other ghost towns including Rochester and Star City. Outdoor recreation abounds within the Humboldt Mountain Range, which beholds Star Peak—the most prominent mountain peak in Pershing County—along with some of the region’s best hunting, fishing, stargazing, off-road driving, rockhounding, and beyond.

Best yet, Star Point Trading Post & RV Park is located along the historic California Trail, a route that hundreds of thousands of pioneers followed west during the mid-1800s. Retrace old wagon roads, and remnants prospectors and early pioneers left behind with metal detecting, which is a popular hobby in the area. The general store is stocked with metal detecting supplies, all kinds of maps, snacks and drinks, last-minute gear you may have forgotten back home, and knowledgeable staff to help answer any questions about things to see and do in the area.

The Star Point RV Park is equipped with extra large RV spaces with upgraded electrical service (20/30/50 AMP) ready to power any rig for the night, or extended stay on the property. RV park guests have access to a well-kept shower facility, laundry room, and playground area. Along with the RV park and general store, visitors will love the on-site restaurant, stocked with all kinds of fresh salads, made-to-order burgers and sandwiches, classic comfort food like chicken pot pie and chicken fried steak, and on Friday and Saturday nights, slow roasted prime rib and lobster tail specials. Wash it all down with cold drinks from a full bar, and don’t forget about mini homemade fruit pies, and other sweet treats!
