The tiny town of Jackpot is situated in the high desert of northern Nevada, less than one mile from the Idaho border. The little town is a popular spot for Idaho natives, who pour in regularly for good old-fashioned Nevada gambling and a round at the surprisingly entertaining Jackpot Golf Club. The fun 18-hole course was designed by Robert Muir Graves and offers the skilled player a true challenge. But the thoughtful design also ensures that beginners won’t feel out of place. Measuring more than 6,900 yards from the tips for a par of 72, the traditional layout was built over rolling terrain that is cleverly incorporated into the course itself. The Jackpot Golf Club’s generously undulating course also features expansive, elevated and fast greens, tree-lined fairways, numerous tricky doglegs and several pretty but deceptively challenging water features. These classic golf course elements add up to a thoroughly enjoyable round. Golfers can work on both their drive and short game thanks to the practice facilities at the Jackpot Golf Club, which include a driving range and practice greens. Lessons are also available for those players in need of a little personalized instruction. The course at Jackpot Golf Club is open seasonally from March through November.
