Host to past PGA events including the Las Vegas Invitational and the LPGA’s Takefuji Classic, as well as recent events like the 2007 Nevada Women’s State Amateur Championship and the 2007 Callaway Junior Series, the private course at the Las Vegas Country Club certainly has a long and rich history. Originally designed in the late 1960s by Edmond B. Ault, the championship course was updated in 1981 by Ron Garl. The beautiful and mature park-like setting of this 18-hole, par-72 course incorporates lush grass, heavy sand bunkers, creative and beautiful water elements and plentiful stands of tall trees. The mostly-flat course layout, which measures more than 7,200 yards from the longest tees, is impeccably maintained and challenging by anyone’s standards.
The prestigious and exclusive Las Vegas Country Club features practice facilities that include two chipping and pitching greens, a canopied driving range with a misting system and an enormous putting green. The modern clubhouse at the club stretches more 40,000 square feet and offers indoor and outdoor tennis courts, racquetball and an exercise room. Guests enjoy other first-class amenities at the private club including a snack bar, men’s grill, shoe shop, barber shop, women’s card room and a pro shop.
