The Pete Dye designed Wolf course at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort was created to give the skilled player a run for his money. And this dramatic par-72 course more than succeeds, earning a reputation as the toughest course in the entire Southwest. The newest layout at the Paiute Golf Resort, the Wolf course runs just over 7,600 yards, making it the longest course in Nevada. The fairways are tight, the greens are small and the natural desert wash areas are strategically laid on each hole, meaning there’s little room for error if you’re looking for a good score on that handicap. But for all that, the course shares the stark desert beauty of its sibling courses, with stunning mountain views, native wildflowers dotted here and there and beautiful water elements incorporated into several holes. The Wolf course has five sets of tees and boasts a signature hole featuring an impressive and formidable island green. The Paiute Golf Resort won a VegasGolfer fairway award for “Best Overall Experience” in 2004, and readers also honored the Wolf course as the “Best Upscale Course” in the valley. Impressive amenities continue with well-rounded practice facilities including a driving range and chipping and putting greens. The spectacular adobe-style clubhouse features a separate smoking bar and banquet rooms with scenic course and mountain views.
