Virginia And Truckee Railroad Train Ride (V&T)

The 1870-era Virginia & Truckee Railway operates two excursions during the summer; The Historic Route to Gold Hill and the Sisters in History Route to Carson City on the restored tracks.

Carson City to Virginia City Route

The 1.5 hour / 14 mile one-way trip from Carson City to Virginia City train route, also called the Sister's in History route, leaves Carson City from the Eastgate Depot located off highway 50 east and Flint Drive. The weekend train ride is available May 27th through October 31st. A return trip from Virginia City to Carson City is available at 3pm.

Virginia City to Gold Hill

The 35 minute / 4 mile roundtrip Historic Route is a short but very rich look into the history where the conductor provides a historical story of the the V&T, Virginia City and the mining boom. The train ride is available May 29th through October 31.
