Unique Nevada

When vacationing in Nevada, create special memories by visiting what we call “unique Nevada” attractions and destinations. From the bright lights of the Las Vegas Strip to the crystal clear waters of blue Lake Tahoe, Nevada has many distinctive attractions – must sees to include in your trip planning.

Perhaps the best-known unique Nevada landmark is the impressive Hoover Dam in Boulder City. Completed in 1936, the dam sits in Black Canyon between the Colorado River and Lake Mead. It towers over 720 feet and weighs more than 6,600,000 tons. The dam receives millions of visitors from all over the world each year.

In rural Nevada, make sure to visit Lovelock where you can “Lock Your Love.” Ancient Chinese culture believed that if a lock was secured to a chain, love would endure forever. Lovelock has adopted this ancient custom and is the only place in the nation where you can lock your love. Locks can be obtained from participating businesses and then fastened to the chains at Lover’s Lock Plaza.

Reno and Las Vegas are both home to bright signs that welcome you to their cities. The flashing red, white and blue “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign sits at the southern-most end of the Las Vegas Strip on Las Vegas Boulevard greeting you to a sea of neon. While in northern Nevada, the glittering “Biggest Little City in the World” Reno Arch stretches over Virginia Street in downtown.

Forget ordinary and find extraordinary. From attractions to landmarks, many “one of a kind” adventures can be experienced on a trip to incredible Nevada.
