Designed by renowned golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the course is divided into three nine-hole courses that can be played in distinct 18-hole combinations. The Sunrise course at Spanish Trail measures 3,426 yards from the back tees and includes the signature ninth hole waterfall adjacent to the clubhouse. With its wide, undulating greens and rolling fairways, Sunrise is as picturesque as it is difficult. In fact, the course features one of the most difficult par three holes in the PGA Tour, with the fifth hole earning a nod when Spanish Trail hosted the Las Vegas Invitational in the late 1980s. And as the course has matured, it’s only become more beautiful and more challenging. The aptly-named Lakes course features water elements on six of the nine holes. The Lakes course boasts one of the most beautiful par five holes in southern Nevada, a 601-yard shot from the back tees onto a water-lined green adjacent to a stunning waterfall. In addition to the tricky water hazards, the course has fast, undulating greens that call for accurate approaches. The most challenging of the three courses at the Spanish Trail Country and Golf Club, the Canyon course measures 3,576 yards from its championship tees. The desert landscaping, recently completed in 2004, gives the course its distinct styling. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Spanish Trail’s 27 holes of golf are divided into three nine-hole courses that can be played in distinct 18-hole combinations. The Canyon course features beautiful lakes and waterfalls, well-bunkered greens, impressive elevation drops and three sets of tee boxes. The nine holes of the Canyons course call for accurate shots off the tees, but are playable by golfers at all skill levels. Practice facilities at the exclusive and private Spanish Trail include a short game area, two practice greens and a driving range. There’s also an incredibly well-equipped pro shop. The private club continues its elegant experience with its newly remodeled clubhouse. With its understated sophistication and grandeur, it’s a relaxing and inviting place for members to unwind before or a after a round.
