Walker Lake is a wonderful place that should be enjoyed by people of all ages. Walker Lake provides summer swimming and boating, camping areas, hiking and great places to explore with your off road vehicle or mountain bike. Walker Lake now has a working boat ramp at Monument Beach beneath the Buffalo Stop.
Walker lake has 4 campground areas. "Sportman's Beach" BLM Developed Camping Area has covered tables, RV pull thru's, fire rings. "Tamarac Beach" BLM Camping area is mostly level with almost no developement. "20 mile beach" is the least developed but has the least noise from Hwy 95. "Walker Lake State Beach" now is "Mineral County Monument Beach" it has covered areas with fire rings and new Boat Ramp and many times the Wild Mustangs and Big Horn Sheep can be seen. All these campgrounds have a excellent view of Mt. Grant, and Walker Lake.
