A lo largo de los a\u00f1os, Elko se ha hecho conocida internacionalmente por su legendaria fabricaci\u00f3n de sillas de montar y cuero, gracias a De JM Capriola<\/a>, ubicado en el coraz\u00f3n del centro de Elko. Pero, antes de que se convirtiera en el \u00edcono que es hoy, todo comenz\u00f3 con el esp\u00edritu emprendedor de un hombre: el \u00fanico e inigualable GS Garc\u00eda. Siendo un joven talabartero, \u00e9l y su esposa llegaron a Elko<\/a> En 1894, y despu\u00e9s de que sus intrincados trabajos en plata y su fabricaci\u00f3n de sillas de montar atrajeron la atenci\u00f3n y el respeto instant\u00e1neos de la comunidad ganadera, abri\u00f3 su propia tienda, GS Garcia Saddle Shop, en el centro de Elko.<\/p>\n\n

En cuesti\u00f3n de unos pocos a\u00f1os, este establecimiento nacido en Elko se hab\u00eda ganado una devoci\u00f3n inquebrantable de las comunidades ganaderas cercanas y lejanas. Los vaqueros estaban incluso dispuestos a pagar un salario equivalente a dos a\u00f1os, algo dif\u00edcil de imaginar, y a comprometerse a una lista de espera de dos a\u00f1os para poder conseguir una silla de montar Garc\u00eda o un par de espuelas. Lo mejor de todo es que su fino trabajo en plata y su fabricaci\u00f3n de sillas de montar equiparon a todo tipo de grupos demogr\u00e1ficos, desde verdaderos vaqueros trabajadores hasta estrellas de Hollywood, e incluso ayud\u00f3 a crear el Estampida del Estado de Plata<\/a>\u2014El primer y m\u00e1s antiguo rodeo de Nevada. Despu\u00e9s de su muerte en 1933, sus hijos trasladaron su negocio nuevamente a California.<\/p>\n\n
