Entre 1908 y 1979, la farmacia Rexall fue una parte central de la vida cotidiana en McGill. Durante esos a\u00f1os, McGill era una ciudad empresarial responsable de fundir el cobre que se tra\u00eda de la cercana Ely<\/a>. McGill \u2014y la farmacia\u2014 disfrutaron de muchas d\u00e9cadas pr\u00f3speras antes de que la industria del cobre entrara en un fuerte declive a fines de la d\u00e9cada de 1970.<\/p>\n\n

Cuando el farmac\u00e9utico de McGill falleci\u00f3 en 1979, no hab\u00eda nadie disponible para hacerse cargo de la tienda. Con pocas opciones, los propietarios se vieron obligados a cerrar el negocio y dejar todo como lo encontraron. Afortunadamente, la tienda fue posteriormente adquirida por el condado y convertida en museo en 1995.<\/p>\n\n

Los estantes de la tienda todav\u00eda est\u00e1n llenos de productos descoloridos que datan de la d\u00e9cada de 1950, incluidos champ\u00fas, esmaltes de u\u00f1as, juguetes, dulces y todo lo dem\u00e1s. No faltan reliquias interesantes por descubrir, desde la fuente de soda hasta el registro de recetas que data de la d\u00e9cada de 1930.<\/p>\n\n
