SUMMARY:Pahrump Social Powwow
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Nevada’s rich American Indian heritage and tradition at one of the largest powwows in the Silver State. Everyone is invited to the Pahrump Social Powwow for three days full of dancing\, music\, food\, and crafts. \n\n\n\nHundreds of dancers\, musicians\, storytellers\, and artisans converge in Pahrump to share and celebrate American Indian culture with locals and visitors alike. \n\n\n\nHundreds flock to Pahrump—home to Western Shoshone and Paiute tribes—for this free cultural and educational experience that’s always held the weekend before Thanksgiving. Traditional\, gourd\, and Aztec dancers of all ages perform in elaborate regalia\, and a Grand Entry takes place at noon on Saturday and Sunday. Drummers and singers fill the air with live music\, and Color Guard presentations honor veterans. \n\n\n\nBetween performances and ceremonies\, shop a wide variety of crafts ranging from jewelry and art to clothing and home goods. Diverse food and drink await\, too\, including fry bread tacos\, fresh fruit cups\, grilled corn\, aguas frescas\, desserts\, and much more. \n\n\n\nThe Pahrump Social Powwow is free to attend\, and free parking is available in a large lot along Highway 160.
