Every Labor Day Weekend\, Sparks closes Victorian Avenue to traffic as hundreds of thousands of barbecue lovers scarf down more than 250\,000 pounds of ribs and rock out to big-name bands (for free!) at one of the largest grilling competitions in the nation. \n\n\n\nDrawing top pitmasters\, barbecue competitors\, and rib teams from every corner of the country (and sometimes even as far as Australia)\, the Nugget Rib Cook-Off serves up every kind of rib and barbecue style imaginable\, as well as plenty of sizzling sides and tasty vegetarian options.  \n\n\n\nJaws drop over (and for) the 250\,000 pounds of ribs that are cooked up in fierce competition for prize money and bragging rights at the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off. \n\n\n\nIn addition to tasty eats\, hundreds of vendors and an action-packed kids’ zone keep the entertainment coming. Beloved bands and musicians will also take the stage every day and night for free concerts. This year’s lineup includes Hinder\, The Wailers\, Hotel California\, and more.   \n\n\n\nIf you really want to go big (and go home stuffed)\, belly up to Rib Village.
