Epic Rides Carson City Off-Road
Epic Rides Carson City Off-Road has been cancelled in 2020. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2021!
Nevada’s state capital is the place to catch intense mountain bike racing action in the Silver State with the Epic Rides Carson City Off-Road series June 26-28.
Now in its fourth year, the Carson City Off-Road offers three challenging backcountry race courses in the Nevada State Parks system and Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest; each crafted from a spectacular set of carefully-curated trails. Riders can choose from 15, 35 or 50-mile races.
All participants climb their way into the eastern edge of the Sierra Nevada and take in sweeping vistas of Lake Tahoe and Northwestern Nevada valleys while connecting some of the area’s favorite—and challenging—pieces of singletrack, double track, gravel roads and the occasional paved segment.
Featuring iconic trails and landmarks like Spooner Lake, Marlette Lake, Tahoe Rim Trail, Sunflower Hill, Snap Dragon Trail, Red House Flume and “Kings to Ash,” the Carson City Off-Road is sure to serve up a gritty soulful mountain bike experience to beginners, seasoned amateurs and some of the world’s finest pros.
Riders and spectators alike will enjoy three days of event festivities while being submerged in the mountain bike industry. Mingle with the most bike-minded people you’ll ever encounter while appreciating the area’s silver mining heritage and feeling welcomed by its modern day appreciation for the outdoor enthusiast.
Carson City is rolling out the red carpet for event attendees—riders and non-riders alike—by closing N. Carson Street to host the three-day mountain biking extravaganza featuring free live music, an industry expo, the spectator-friendly Fat Tire Criterium, the zany Clunker Criterium as well as the Blinkyman bike ride on Friday evening, which passes by the steps of both the Governor’s Mansion and the historic Nevada State Capitol building.
In classic frontier fashion, all of downtown Carson City will be an “open container” jurisdiction, giving folks the freedom to responsibly roam with their libation of choice.
With an engraved railroad finisher spike awarded to race winners, top-notch free live music, a cold beverage from Four Peaks Brewing Company (gratis) and the comfort of the capital city’s sprawling shaded lawns waiting at the finish for all participans, this is one finish line worth preparing and persevering for.
The Carson City Off-Road has a 98 percent finish rate. Bring your climbing legs and you’ll do just fine.
