SUMMARY:Fears\, Tears & Beers Mountain Bike Enduro Race
DESCRIPTION:Ride up\, over\, around\, and through some of the highest-elevation mountain ranges in the Silver State at Fears\, Tears & Beers\, the country’s oldest MTB enduro race. This only-in-Ely ride sends mountain bikers into rugged high desert terrain surrounding Ely\, with timed downhill sections\, serious climbs\, and plenty of post-ride payoffs. \n\n\n\nOrganized by mountain bikers for mountain bikers\, Fears\, Tears & Beers gets the pedal party rolling with rugged trails\, timed downhill runs\, and a well-earned post-ride party in Ely. \n\n\n\nThe enduro course sends riders up Ward Mountain before timing them on specific sections of the course\, where twisty downhills and sprint sections decide the winners. Men’s and women’s events span Beginner\, Intermediate\, Sport\, Expert\, and Pro classes\, with routes ranging from 11 miles and 1\,000 feet of climbing to 41 miles and 6\,000 feet of elevation gain. \n\n\n\nNot riding? No problem. Broadbent Park keeps the good times rolling with music and all-day celebrating\, while spectators can bring binoculars and lawn chairs to catch Expert and Pro riders on the final downhill timed section.  \n\n\n\nAfter the dust settles\, the Bristlecone Convention Center hosts the after-party and awards ceremony\, with racers eating free and $10 wristbands available for the public. \n\n\n\nAn annual fundraising event for the Great Basin Trails Alliance\, riding in this event means you’re helping fund the building and maintenance of non-motorized trails in the Ely area.
