DESCRIPTION:Hikers flock to the Rubies to hoof it among northeastern Nevada’s most sought-after mountain scenery. For those looking to put a little more pep in their step\, there’s the Ruby Mountain Races\, a series of road courses open to all ages and skill levels\, running from Father’s Day Weekend through late summer—all with the Swiss Alps of Nevada as their backdrop. \n\n\n\nPut your best foot forward on some of the most scenic routes in the Silver State with the Ruby Mountain Race Series. \n\n\n\nLamoille Canyon Half Marathon\, 5K & Free Kids K\n\n\n\nThe series opener is held annually on the Saturday of Father’s Day weekend\, with a half marathon that starts in Lamoille Canyon and works its way down the scenic byway to the town of Lamoille—one of the most scenic race courses in Nevada. A 5K and a free Kids K run alongside it. All participants receive a shirt\, while half marathon finishers earn a medal. \n\n\n\nSpring Creek Freedom 5K \n\n\n\nOn 4th of July Weekend\, runners gather at the Spring Creek Marina for a low-key\, festive race that makes for a great kickoff to the holiday. \n\n\n\nColor Chase 5K \n\n\n\nThe series wraps up in late August with a colorful run that starts and ends at Spring Creek’s city park.
