SUMMARY:Sacred Visions Powwow
DESCRIPTION:The Sacred Visions Powwow is a celebration of American Indian tradition\, uniting communities through dance\, song\, stories\, food\, and crafts. Hosted by the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe and free to the public (including camping)\, the powwow extends an open invitation to be part of te nanumu magodyuku: “bringing the people home.” \n\n\n\nHosted by the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe\, the Sacred Visions Powwow is an open-to-all invitation to experience living American Indian tradition\, including dance\, song\, food\, and community. \n\n\n\nThe weekend begins with a sunrise ceremony on Friday\, with grand entries taking place daily throughout the event. Over the course of the weekend\, guests can take part in a drum contest\, a traditional Paiute buckskin contest\, a regalia pageant\, and a fun run.  \n\n\n\nHand games\, traditional cuisine\, and arts and crafts vendors round out the experience\, alongside opportunities to learn about the tribe’s ancestral connection to the land and the ongoing care and preservation of Pyramid Lake. \n\n\n\nThe Sacred Visions Powwow takes place at Big Bend Ranch in Wadsworth\, Nevada.
