Typically held each September\, Sample the Sierra is all about celebrating homegrown food\, wines\, spirits\, and foods from local businesses in and around South Lake Tahoe\, bringing the best local restaurants and neighboring farmers and ranchers together to create some serious culinary magic. Together\, they turn out savory samples\, with paired wine or brew—all from the Sierra Nevada region.  \n\n\n\nSouth Lake Tahoe hosts one of the state’s most popular multiple restaurant events with Sample the Sierra\, wrangling dozens of the region’s most celebrated farm-to-fork eateries. \n\n\n\nBring the whole fam for a weekend of farm tours\, music and live entertainment\, a festival marketplace brimming with the area’s best artists and makers\, and much more. Spend the weekend tasting your way through an amazing lineup of chefs\, and don’t miss the Sierra Chefs Challenge—an Iron Chef-style challenge where the three best chefs in the Sierra Nevada go head to head\, competing with locally sourced ingredients the audience can taste. \n\n\n\nSample the Sierra takes place in Bijou Community Park in South Lake Tahoe.
