DESCRIPTION:Eat\, drink\, and be Basque! \n\n\n\nPicon Punch your ticket to the beloved Winnemucca Basque Festival\, a fun-filled weekend celebrating all things Basque and the culture’s influence on northern Nevada. \n\n\n\nSeasoned sheepherders\, first-timers\, and everyone in between has a blast at the Winnemucca Basque Festival. Kicking off at Humboldt Museum\, and following a parade through downtown Winnemucca\, numerous troupes take to the streets to perform traditional Basque dances. Watch (or participate) in a variety of games and competitions from the old country\, or save your strength for all the tasty eats that’ll tempt you. Chorizo\, lamb stew\, a paella dinner\, and a full bar pouring Basque favorites like the Picon Punch will be too mouthwatering to resist. \n\n\n\nAdding to the party atmosphere is live music from both Basque performers and contemporary bands. The sheepherder bread auction is a must\, and activities for kids include face painting\, snow cones\, and catching candy tossed from the parade floats. \n\n\n\nThe Winnemucca Basque Festival is headquartered at the Winnemucca Convention Center\, and most events are free to attend.
