The Springs Preserve is open seven days a week, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Hours may vary for classes and special events. The Springs Preserve is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The Nevada State Museum is open Tuesday – Sunday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.


Fall Butterfly Habitat Season

In this seasonal exhibit, wander through our unique Butterfly Habitat and witness the fascinating dance between free-flying butterflies and the plants that sustain them. You'll emerge with a better understanding of the environment needed for the survival of these spectacular animals. The Butterfly Habitat's schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions and special event availability. Friday, September 15 – Sunday, November 19, daily 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Tickets sold 10 am-2:45 pm. $2 members, $3 non-members. Hours extended for special events.


The Springs Preserve’s newest permanent exhibit, WaterWorks is an interactive, behind-the-scenes look at the inner-workings of water-resource treatment and delivery in Southern Nevada. Learn all about the challenges and triumphs of the journey of water as you touch replicated quagga mussels, look at harmful water contaminants using a microscope, examine rock samples excavated from hundreds of feet below Lake Mead’s surface, and more. The WaterWorks exhibit, located in the operational Charleston Heights Pumping Station, is presented by the Las Vegas Valley Water District, Southern Nevada Water Authority and Springs Preserve, in partnership with ONE DROP™, with contributions from the RBC Blue Water Project and Springs Preserve Foundation. On display daily starting September 16, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Free for members or included with paid general admission. Train transfer tickets to get to Boomtown 1905 and WaterWorks are free for members or $2 for non-members.

Autumn Plant Sale

At our Autumn Plant Sale, find a diverse selection of water-wise and desert-adapted plants, including natives and plants to attract pollinators. The sale will feature native and drought-tolerant plant species sold in container with sizes ranging from 1 to 15 gallons. Gardens staff experts will be on hand to answer customers' questions about how to care for their new plants. Saturday, September 16, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. in South Parking Lot. Free. Regular admission prices apply for access to museums and galleries.

Third Thursdays

Visit us for a summer evening at the Springs Preserve’s monthly Third Thursdays. Enjoy Happy Hour at the Divine Cafe, extended hours in our gift shop, and discounted admission to the Origen Museum for an early evening visit. Thursday, September 21, 5 – 8 p.m. Free for members, $5 for non-member adults, $3 for non-member children; kids 2 and under are free.

Asian Heritage Celebration

Be dazzled by the music, dance and costumes of the Far East during our annual Asian Heritage Celebration. Enjoy tasty traditional foods, live entertainment and fun activities for all. You won’t want to miss this colorful, festive occasion. This family-friendly event features lion dances and taiko performances, tea ceremonies, games, face painting and henna tattoos, craft activities, cultural displays and exhibits, and more! Saturday, September 23, 2017, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. $6 for adults and children, ages 2 and under are free. Tickets are available online or at the Springs Preserve ticket window.

Grapes & Hops

Sample fine wines, a unique selection of beers and food from some of Las Vegas' finest restaurants—while helping to raise money for a good cause—at the Springs Preserve's annual Grapes & Hops Festival. Kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a portion of ticket sales and all raffle proceeds from this event benefit Par for The Cure, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research. Saturday, September 30, 2017, 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Advance tickets are $45 individual, $80 pair ticket (Pair ticket not available day of event.) Day of tickets are $55 individual, $30 designated driver. Members receive a $5 discount on all but designated driver tickets. VIP tickets include designated VIP section with private bar, specialty food samples and early admission and are $115 (Total of 100 VIP tickets available.) Boomtown 1905 

Be transported back to the era of Las Vegas as a flourishing railroad town at our new Boomtown 1905 exhibit. Walk through historic re-creations of the original train depot, Arizona Club, Majestic Theatre, First State Bank, Lincoln Hotel, and a mercantile. Encounter interpretive, interactive exhibits and period décor to learn about life in 1905 – 1920 Las Vegas. Take the Preserve’s trackless train to tour an original restored cottage, built by the railroad in 1910, and visit early businesses as you explore the faces and the places of Las Vegas’s past. Open daily 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Free for members or included with paid general admission. Train transfer tickets to get to Boomtown are free for members or $2 for non-members.


Astronauts are identified with adventure, exploration, and endeavor. Discover what it takes to be a space explorer by wearing a flight suit, taking a spin in a ‘centrifuge’ capsule, climbing into a rocket, viewing live footage from the International Space Station, and more in our newest traveling exhibit. Astronaut was designed and produced by Scitech in Perth, Australia and produced by Imagine Exhibitions Inc. This exhibit appears exclusively at the Springs Preserve daily through September 17, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free for members or included with paid general admission.

Vegas Valley Memories: The Art of Roy Purcell

Roy Purcell’s mixed media paintings combine art with text for a chronological overview of the history of the Las Vegas Valley. Exhibit on display through October 8, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily in the Big Springs Gallery. Free for members or included with paid general admission.

Animal Encounters

Come meet one of our amazing desert critters as you explore the Origen Museum. Learn the unique survival strategies that allow animals in the desert to survive our harsh environment. No reservation required, this is a “drop-in” style experience to enjoy indoors while exploring the Origen galleries. Weekends & select holidays through September 24 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Free for members or included with paid general admission.

Feature Film – Lake Mead’s Third Intake: Southern Nevada’s Hidden Engineering Marvel (27 minutes)

Local water agencies recently completed one of the most ambitious engineering projects ever attempted - underground and underwater. Learn more about the effort to provide Southern Nevada with Lake Mead water for years to come and the construction project that took place in our own backyard. Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m. inside the Big Springs Theater. Free for members or with paid general admission.


Toddler Time

Bring your little ones to the Springs Preserve Thursday mornings for kid-friendly fun with a new theme every week! Recommended for ages 5 and under. 11–11:45 a.m. Thursdays. Free for members or with general admission.

Ride the Train

Take a guided, narrated ride on our life-size locomotive around the historic 2.2-mile Exploration Trail and learn the history of the settling of the Las Vegas Valley or take a quick transfer ride to and/or from Boomtown. Daily – weather permitting. Transfers to and from Boomtown, 9:30 – 3:30 p.m. daily, free for members, $2 for non-members. Full, guided train rides start at 11 a.m. daily. Check onsite for times. $3 for members, $5 for non-members.

Bike the Trails

Rent a bike and take a ride along our historic 2.2-mile Exploration Trail. Daily – weather permitting. Check onsite for times. $6 for members, $8 for non-members. Personal bikes are not permitted.


Crack A Geode

Choose it, smash it, keep it! Crack open your own geode to discover treasure inside. Drop in to the Gift Shop DAILY. Last "crack" half hour prior to close. Members: $2. Non-members: GA + $3.

Springs Preserve Mining Camp

Experience the thrill of mining your own minerals, gems and fossils. Choose what you want to mine, and take your treasures home! Weekends 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Members: $9. Non-members: GA + $10.

Earn a Nature Badge

Complete a badge booklet each month and earn a badge for all you’ve learned about science and nature! Drop in to the Nature Exchange DAILY. FREE for members and with paid general admission.

Color Diffusing Leaves

Special textured paper that draws colors in and blends into interesting patterns and swirls, just like our very own autumn leaves! Drop in to the Origen Museum on Saturdays and Sundays, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Members: $2. Non-members: GA + $3 per craft.

Botanical Garden Guided Walks

Join our experts for a guided walk through our beautiful Botanical Garden. Saturdays and Sundays at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Free for members or with general admission.

Vegetable Gardening 101

This is the perfect time to start your vegetable garden with cool seasonal vegetables. Join us as we go over the steps to create your garden for a bountiful harvest. Sunday, September 17, 1 – 3 p.m. $12 members: $15 non-members.

Youth Garden Series: Growing with the Times

It’s the ideal time to get our garden up and growing. We’ll dig into soil preparation, germination, and plant guilds as we merrily grow along. Join us in our new Teaching Garden for a true hands-on experience. Wednesdays, September 13, 20, 27, 10 a.m. – Noon (6 – 8 year olds), 1 – 3 p.m. (9 -12 year olds) $24 members, $30 non-members for all three classes.


Divine Cafe Happy Hour

Happy hour comes to the Springs Preserve! Join us every Thursday for live entertainment, 4 – 8 p.m. Happy hours feature ever-changing specially-priced food and cocktail menus including Divine sliders, street tacos, a blood orange cosmopolitan and more. Drink prices start at just $2 for beer and $6 for wine. Thursdays 4 – 8 p.m. in the Divine Cafe.

Sunday Brunches at Divine Cafe

Join us Sundays at the Divine Cafe for a delicious breakfast before heading out to explore the Preserve! We open every Sunday at 10 a.m. for spectacular views and a special brunch menu including quiche, frittatas, French toast, and more. Sundays starting at 10 a.m. in the Divine Cafe.

Tailgate Divine - A Hands-On Cooking Class

The game is on! Join TEAM Divine, Las Vegas’ premier culinary go-to for all foodie go-getters, as we kick off the season with a tailgate cooking expo and competition. Prep, cook and eat hall-of-fame game-day food from our playbook menu including Weber Fruit Kabobs, Blue & Red Deviled Eggs, Best Heirloom Buffalo Wings, 7-Layer Avocados, Shoshito Poppers, Pulled Pork Pizzetes, Bloody Mary Grilled Cheese, Pretzel Beer & Brats, Espresso Crème Puffs, and more. The Artistry of Pete Menefee - Costume Design for the Nevada Stage

The Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas is proud to present a new exhibition celebrating the extraordinary artistry of costume designer Pete Menefee. A multiple Emmy-Award-winning costume designer, Pete Menefee is famed for his inimitable work with musical superstars, variety productions, and Nevada’s costume-spectacular stage shows. The Artistry of Pete Menefee - Costume Design for the Nevada Stage interprets the significance of Menefee’s work through photographs, stage costumes, and the original costume design renderings from Hello Hollywood Hello, Jubilee, and Splash. This exhibition at the Nevada State Museum is on display daily Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. through December 31. Admission to the Nevada State Museum is free for Springs Preserve members or included with paid general admission.


Springs Preserve Admission Prices

General Admission (GA) for Nevada residents is $9.95 for adults, $8.95 for students, seniors, teachers and military, $4.95 for children ages 5 – 17, kids 4 and under are free. General admission also includes access to the Nevada State Museum, open Tuesday through Sunday. Admission for nonresidents adults is $18.95, $17.05 seniors, students and military, $10.95 for children ages 5 – 17, kids 4 and under are free. Springs Preserve Membership

Springs Preserve memberships are the perfect way to share the Springs Preserve with family and friends and are available online or at the Springs Preserve Ticketing Office. All memberships include year-round access to the Springs Preserve (discounted admission to select special events), early hours entry to gardens and trails, discounts to classes, workshops, the Gift Shop, access to the Nevada State Museum, and a subscription to the Springs Preserve member newsletter. There are a variety of gift options to choose from starting with an Individual membership ($25), a Family membership ($60) which includes two adults and up to six children or grandchildren in same household ages 5 – 17 (children 4 and under are always free), or a Bronze Family membership ($100) which includes all member benefits plus extras including free stroller rental, preferred parking, and two free guest passes.
