Nevada Weddings

Las Vegas is nicknamed the Wedding Capital of the World, and for good reason: It has everything from destination weddings at five-star resorts to drive-through nuptials graced by Elvis. But the Nevada wedding scene extends well beyond our largest city. No matter how you envision your special day, anything is possible here, whether that’s a beachfront Lake Tahoe ceremony, exchanging vows in a lavender field, or even getting hitched at Burning Man.

Weddings in Las Vegas, Reno & Lake Tahoe

Las Vegas weddings are always a hot choice, with big-name spots like A Little White Chapel or the “king” of Elvis-officiated ceremonies at Graceland Chapel. But Nevada’s famous not just for eloping couples or impromptu engagements. Having a wedding in Las Vegas pleases guests by making destination weddings as easy (and fun) as possible. To minimize wedding-day stress, every major resort offers packages that can include a venue, rooms, food, and other matrimonial goodies. Fancy some extra flowers or a spa package to enhance the romance? Consider yourself accommodated.

Weddings in Reno are the perfect way to tie the knot. Located in the heart of downtown, the Arch of Reno Wedding Chapel is a one-stop wedding shop specializing in spontaneity. If you’re looking for a bucolic outdoor celebration, consider marrying in a field of fragrant purple hues at Lavender Ridge. For timeless elegance at a classic wedding venue, look no further than The Elm Estate. But if a country-club vibe is more your speed, The Club at Arrowcreek provides a lush fairway backdrop and panoramic views of the city.

And then there’s Lake Tahoe, one of the most beautiful locations in the world and headquarters for countless talented professionals who specialize in planning a wedding. Several beachside resorts can also help you plan anything from a low-key ceremony at a beautiful mountain park to the most elaborate extravaganza with the Jewel of the Sierra as your backdrop. In North Lake Tahoe, soak up the breathtaking lake views and alpine serenity with a wedding at North Tahoe Event Center or The Chateau at Incline Village. South Lake Tahoe also offers some truly spectacular wedding venues. Discover the rustic romance and historic beauty of Valhalla, or say your vows with stunning panoramic views in every direction at Heavenly Mountain Resort.

Unique & Uncommon Weddings in Nevada

The ways to get married in Nevada are as offbeat as the state itself. Looking for an unforgettable venue?

These options are only the beginning. You’ll find churches, chapels, and more one-of-a-kind venues in almost every city and town in the Silver State.

How to Get Married in Nevada

Getting hitched in Nevada is pretty easy. There are no blood tests, no waiting periods, and anyone at least 18 years old is welcome to get married in the Silver State (except those who are “nearer of kin than second cousins or cousins of the half blood” or already married).

You’ll need to get a marriage license from the county. Both parties will need to go in person to the marriage license bureau—and in Clark County (Las Vegas) and Washoe County (Reno), you’ll also need to complete a required, online application prior to arrival. You’ll need to show a form of government-issued ID (like a driver’s license, passport, or military ID card) to prove your identity and age. A marriage license in Nevada is valid for one year prior to the ceremony, so this is one item you can check off your list ahead of time.
