Pahrump, winery

Just a short 55 minute drive from Las Vegas, the Pahrump Valley is home to the Charleston Peak Winery. Growing wine in the Mojave Desert is not for the faint of heart, but the crew at Charleston Peak have proven it can be delicious.

The first winery in the state to produce a sparkling wine from locally grown grapes, the portfolio’s high-desert varietals include Symphony White, Rosé of Zinfandel, and an Amargosa Red Blend.

Spanning approximately nine acres at the base of Charleston Peak, the newly established winery was originally founded as Pahrump Valley Vineyards in 1989. Surrounded by sweeping desert mountain views, the winery offers a serene escape and a collection of locally crafted wines steeped in Nevada’s winemaking heritage.

Led by winemaker Steven Bowen, the winery’s estate-grown portfolio is made possible through a partnership with esteemed vineyard management company, Bolton Vines, led by Austin Bolton. The first winery in the state to produce a sparkling wine from locally grown grapes, the portfolio’s high-desert varietals include Symphony White, Rosé of Zinfandel, and an Amargosa Red Blend. Guided tastings, served on the scenic patio or in the intimate 1,450-square-foot tasting room, are complemented by a curated selection of bistro fare from Las Vegas’ award-winning AMARI Italian Kitchen & Wine Shop, sister restaurant to Charleston Peak.

Try a locally produced wines with artisan chocolate pairings from Jean-Marie Auboine Chocolatier (Las Vegas), or take one of the winery tours which includes exclusive barrel tastings for a true behind-the-scenes experience.
