Popular Bed & Breakfasts

History doesn’t feel far away when you’re sleeping in the middle of it. Many of Nevada’s bed and breakfasts operate from homes that have seen lifetimes pass through their halls. Your next stay could put you closer to adventure (and just might be your next adventure).

Northern Nevada B&Bs

If you’re looking for a bed and breakfast near Reno, Virginia City has a host of options for you. Travel less than 30 miles from the Biggest Little City to discover Victorian-era lodging that retains the opulent charm of the town’s mining heyday. You can’t go wrong with Cobb Mansion Bed & Breakfast or Howard Street Home. For coziness with a dash of history, Virginia City Bed & Breakfast and B Street House Inn are also favorites.

The White House Inn is another can’t-miss overnighter in the Reno-Tahoe region. It’s not uncommon to see deer outside this boutique B&B in Genoa—Nevada’s oldest settlement—and you’ll be just a short walk away from the town’s historic gems. Pick which of the four rooms you adore most and settle in for a getaway surrounded by gorgeous views.

Further afield in the old mining town of Unionville sits Old Pioneer Garden Country Inn. This charming—and remote—bed and breakfast dates back to the 1860s. The Hadley House, where visitors usually stay, was once the town’s blacksmith shop, and surrounding the bucolic property are the well-preserved remains of the town’s original structures.

Searching for a bed and breakfast near Las Vegas? Options surround the city in almost every direction. Go west toward Pahrump and tuck in at K7 Bed and Breakfast, which offers both breakfast and dinner options. Northwest of Las Vegas is the Shady Lady Bed & Breakfast, found just outside Beatty. This colorful property was once a brothel, but it now welcomes those seeking heart-shaped tubs and the company of peacocks. Both K7 and the Shady Lady serve as on-the-way stays if your ultimate destination is Death Valley National Park.

For truly getting away from it all, opt for Queensland Vineyard Bed and Breakfast. Detour off US-95 and go to Dyer for this three-bedroom retreat (both pet friendly and able to accommodate vegetarians) located in the middle of vineyards, a lavender garden, and alfalfa farm. Near the Utah border, Panaca is well worth the road trip from Las Vegas. In this tiny farm town, the Pine Tree Inn Bed & Breakfast tempts guests to choose between the main house and a log cabin. Fuel up with a full, hot breakfast and explore nearby Cathedral Gorge State Park and just-up-the-highway Pioche, home to Old West sights that definitely still wow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the advantages of staying in a bed and breakfast?

Bed and breakfasts offer a more personal experience than traditional hotels. Many are owned and/or operated by hosts who know the area well and take pride in making you feel right at home. The pace is slower, the setting is more intimate, and the atmosphere is more relaxed than your typical hotel, too.

Is breakfast free at a bed and breakfast?

Usually, the answer is yes! Breakfast is often included in the room rate you pay to stay at a B&B. However, some properties do charge separately to take advantage of meals. It’s best to confirm directly with any bed and breakfast that catches your eye.

It’s the freakin’ weekend, baby, and if you wanna do Saturday Nevada style, you better get your buns off the grid and on the barstool at a real-as-it-gets sagebrush saloon. @overlandhotel keeps the drinks flowing and the history alive in Pioche, where you can cheers beers over a solid mahogany bar built way back in 1868. 🍻

The Gold Hill Hotel located just one mile south of Virginia City has a reputation of attracting Paranormal Investigators from near and far because one of the deadliest mining accidents in Nevada happened just behind the property at the Yellow Jacket Mine.
•••
Some have claimed to detect miners who perished in the fire, while others have claimed to have been visited by Rosie – a famous prostitute who lived in the historic hotel for a period of time.

Would you stay the night at this haunted clown motel??
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We started our ghost walk tour inside the lobby of this this world famous place. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Afterwards, we headed next door to the old Tonopah Cemetery where we enjoyed learning about several of the 300 people buried here from 1901 to 1911. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These permanent residents died from injuries, suicide, plague, the Belmont mine fire and even murder! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After finding out about some of these interesting stories, we were given time to wander around and detect ghosts & spirits with EMF meters. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Finally, we were taken to several creepy and haunted rooms throughout the motel where people have died. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was interesting to learn that since the town no longer has a nursing home, several people actually make their way to this motel to live out their final days. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Overall, we really enjoyed this unique experience! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Last weekend I went to Reno with a friend from Seattle. It was a midway point to split the flight time. We knew we wanted to do a little gambling but didn’t want to stay in the casinos. We were lucky enough to find whitneypeakhotel a boutique smoke free and gaming free hotel right at the arch on the strip.

We stayed in a Club Level room on the 16th floor with neon sunset views over the casinos. Our room was HUGE and came with a few amenities that I haven’t seen before. Ok, so a Schitt’s Creek door hanger isn’t actually an amenity, but I LOVED IT!

In addition to our Club Level room coming with access to the lounge for free happy hour and breakfast, each floor had an amazing water dispenser. Between the elevation and the heat, HELLO! this is genius! Such a life saver! I wish every hotel had filtered water for everyone!

We had several meals and drinks in the cafewhitneyreno , the chicken kaarage was a delicious surprise. And they have an indoor AND outdoor rock climbing wall!

If you’re exploring Reno or having a stop over before going to Tahoe, this is a great option for you.
